SOTF 9 Announced

After nearly six months since the end of SOTF 8, it is time for a new cycle of evolution. Registration for Survival of the Fittest 9 will begin Monday, May 7th at 7 PM EST.

SOTF 9 will be a 16 team tournament with a $3200 prize pot. Prizes will be distributed to the top 4 teams as follows:

And as a bonus, the winning team will also receive 5 SteelSound 5H v2 headsets courtesy of EGLN and SteelSeries.

SOTF 9 is, as in the past, a first-come first-serve, double-elimination tournament. The entry fee is $206 per team via credit card or PayPal. Full details on how to register will be given out on the day of registration. All 32 spots in SOTF 8 were sold out in less than 6 hours. This time it should go even faster, so be prepared.

Although the format remains the same, seeding will not be random and will be done by the SOTF administration. The seeding will be announced shortly before the tournament begins. Servers for the matches will once again be provided by NuclearFallout, who is thought by most, and certainly by us, to provide the best gaming servers on the market. To achieve the best pings possible, matches will be played on their Chicago and Dallas servers.

SOTF 9 will bring fans and competitors even closer to the game. For the first time in Call of Duty history, SOTF will have detailed statistics for every match, team, and player. Electronic Gaming Live Network (EGLN) will provide great and exciting shoutcasting of the tournament's matches along with live video streams. Each match will also have a scorebot in an official SOTF 9 IRC channel. You won't be missing any of the action.
